Creating a threaded hole on a bottle stopper blank using the bottle stopper typically is very difficult and produces so-so results. This  bottle stopper chucks is designed to make the threading of the wooden blank easier and provide a better fit for your 3/8" bottle stopper. The 3/8" x 16tpi thread size is a common size for bottle stopper threads. 

Mounting the Bottle Stopper Blank By mounting the wooden blank onto the chuck you will be able to turn your finished project directly on the chuck with out having to re position the blank compared to a bulky 4 jaw chuck!
